About us
The Adult Education Centre, Kouvolan kansalaisopisto, has provided leisure education for Kouvola residents for over a century. We are officially a liberal adult education institution and a cultural operator that offers independent learning opportunities and cultural experiences in languages, as well as theoretical, practical, and art subjects.
Kouvolan kansalaisopisto provides adults with opportunities for self-improvement and lifelong learning – knowledge, skills, and experiences – and promotes the wellbeing of individuals and the community based on the principles of liberal adult education.
Courses also for children
We provide courses for children as well. For some courses, you can come with a child and study together. Kouvolan kansalaisopisto also offers courses specifically for children as well as courses for both child and adult.
Basic education in the arts
Basic education in the arts is after-school-hours arts education provided in local art schools. It is goal-oriented, tied to a national curriculum, and taught by trained professionals in the field.
With basic education in the arts, everyone will find their own story, as there are five different arts to choose from: crafts, literary art, theater, visual arts, and music.
